This project had to respect the essence and unique history of La Bodegueta as a traditional bar or café that has served as a meeting-place for locals over the course of generations.
We gave maximum importance to the bar as the central element and created various multi-purpose sub-spaces (including a snack/smoking area at the entrance, an area for live music, a bar area, and a chill-out-type area) in order to optimize the ample size of the establishment. We made some of the pre-existing elements more visible by using materials that worked in harmony with objects typically found in a bodega, or winery, such as barrels. We enhanced the bar itself by using metalwork, aged woodwork, white marble, and other elements, and paid particularly close attention to the lighting scheme and lamps.
We used artisan solutions to keep the cost of the work down and to create unique, one-of-a-kind elements befitting of an establishment like La Bodegueta.
